Have you ever tried Rakuten?
A few weeks ago I got an email from Paypal signaling that I got a deposit to my account from Rakuten. Once I realised what it was I so excited that I decided to share my experience.
Rakuten was originally called e-bates. What they do is pay you cashback when you shop at certain stores. You have to sign up for an account with them and prior to doing your shopping, you visit their site/app and select your store. Once you make your purchase you’ll get an email in a few days confirming the amount you earned. Rakuten accumulates the funds and pays you every quarter. You can get the funds via a physical cheque or by deposit to an Paypal account.
Now, maybe you’ve seen the ads on TV and wondered if it works and I’m here to confirm that it does. However, it wont make you rich. The percentage cash back you are paid is dependent on the store and since its a percentage of how much you spend. So the more you spend, the more you get back. Be mindful though, that some stores have restrictions on what items are eligible for cash back. Regardless of that though, Ive received cash back for shopping at Forever 21, Old Navy, Asos, Clinique and H&M. I’ve even gotten cash back on Ubereats!
Why am I telling you this? Not only did I recently get my deposit but it occurred to me that this info might be helpful to those of you who are going to be purchasing gifts…
